Course description

A wildlife tree is defined as "any standing dead or live tree with specific characteristics that provide valuable habitat for the conservation or enhancement of wildlife." Yet, many wildlife trees, especially in urban areas, are cut down for safety reasons. Learn what makes a wildlife tree special for habitat, and learn what makes a tree dangerous—maybe the same tree! And learn how to assess and classify wildlife trees as a valuable ecological component of local ecosystems. The presenter is a certified wildlife tree – danger tree assessor.
