Ranging from the pygmy mouse lemur to the majestic Grauer’s (eastern lowland) gorilla, primates are fascinating animals with complex biological and behavioural characteristics. This informative lecture provides an introduction to the world of primatology, focusing on the ecology and behaviour of non-human primates. Topics will include speciation, habitat, social organization, communication and conservation, as well as a brief history of primate studies. You will learn about the incredible diversity of primate species on Earth, take a tour through the world of primate habitat and meet the pioneering primatologists who devoted their careers to primate conservation.
