UVic is open today, Thursday, Jan. 16.

BC Transit is reporting that they are running all routes to UVic but there may be delays due to black ice. For latest BC transit updates.

Crews are continuing to work to the best of their abilities to make the campus as safe and accessible as possible. Following UVic’s Winter Weather Response Plan, snow is cleared from roads, parking lots and main pathways in order of priority.

Due to the heavy snowfall, some sections of pathways and parking lots may be slushy or slippery. Please plan ahead, allow extra time and take care in your travels to and around campus. Use main routes and building entrances, as these are cleared first. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for winter conditions.

Please use your own judgement. If you do not feel safe travelling or moving about campus in winter conditions, contact your supervisor, department or instructors to make alternative arrangements. UVic staff are working as quickly as possible, given the circumstances, to ensure roads and pathways are clear and safe.

If you wish to report an area of campus that requires snow clearing attention, please call Facilities Management at 250-721-7616.
