UVic will be participating in the first ever 5 Days of Action the week of March 19. The goal of the event is to create meaningful and respectful dialogue on campus around equity, diversity and human rights and to actively engage the campus community in concrete actions to end discrimination, harassment and sexualized violence.

Monday, March 19, 2018 | 10 am – 2 pm
Atrium |  Continuing Studies Building, UVic Campus

On Monday, March 19 from 10 am to 2 pm, Continuing Studies staff, students, instructors and any interested campus partners or community members will be invited to add their painted handprints to a large canvas that will then be displayed in the atrium. The writing on the top of the canvas will indicate that anyone leaving a print will be doing so under the pledge to embrace diversity and encourage inclusion. There will be information on display in the atrium on practical ways to embrace diversity and inclusion in a workplace or throughout the community as well. We’re hoping for a fun event.

Other 5 Days of Action activities include workshops, live theatre and daily calls to action that invite participation by every member of the community. Every faculty across campus is expected to participate in some way—either through a formal workshop or presentation, or a more casual call to action—and the Division of Continuing Studies will be doing so as well.
