• French Language Day Camps

We are pleased to offer three French language educational and recreational sessions for children eager to interact, learn and play in French. These on-campus sessions, conducted in French, are intended for children who have completed at least kindergarten and at most grade four in French Immersion or in a Francophone school. Our experienced staff is committed to encouraging the exclusive use of French at all times, fostering creativity, promoting discovery and learning in a fun and safe environment.

Our aim is to provide your child(ren) with a unique opportunity to continue to use their French over the summer through a variety of fun-filled and stimulating “camp-style” activities. These activities are organized with a vision to foster your child(ren)'s physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social development. Here are some examples:

  • outdoor activities (outdoor games, nature walks, excursions to the beach)
  • arts and crafts (painting, origami, etc.)
  • swimming pool once a week
  • exploration of campus facilities (print shop, radio station, kitchen, astronomy labs, etc.)

Although several activities will be repeated, children are welcome to register for more than one session.

Your child(ren) will be supervised by a team of francophone leaders experienced in organizing activities for children. Staff is chosen with the utmost care in terms of:

  • qualifications
  • experience with children
  • reference checks
  • criminal record check
  • first-aid certification

The maximum leader/child ratio will be one to ten, and—enrollment permitting—children will be divided into groups according to their age.

Educators use a variety of strategies to implement the standards policy: setting limits; using natural and logical consequences; offering appropriate choices; using positive reinforcement; encouraging effective problem solving. As attendees and educators are expected to live and act in a spirit of mutual respect at all times, children who repeatedly engage in disruptive behaviour and ignore warnings shall be asked to leave the program.
