This course is geared to students who have completed Mandarin: Intermediate or are functionally conversant in the language. While conversations are kept simple, they will be enriched with a variety of daily life topics, at once broadening your cultural knowledge while building your communication skills. You will also get to expand your written skills by focusing on constructing paragraphs.
We encourage students to participate in our language courses more than one time in order to truly learn the material taught over 10 lessons. It also gives you additional exposure to varying activities within each topic.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Distinguish and reproduce the four tones of the language with greater ease
Use Pinyin (an invaluable Mandarin pronunciation guide, which uses the English alphabet) more effectively
Understand and use the new vocabulary and more complex grammar that will be taught
Ask and answer more complex questions
Recognize and reproduce simple characters
Form longer sentences and short paragraphs that could be used in email or on WeChat
Be more familiar with Chinese culture, by means of Chinese social media, songs, videos, etc.
A full course refund will only be provided if you withdraw from the course prior to the course start date. A refund, less a $15 administrative fee, will be issued if you withdraw within 6 calendar days after the official course start date. Depending on your method of payment, a refund will be either mailed to you or credited to your credit card.
