This is the highest level of our five-level French Language Diploma Program, focusing on all four basic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Classes meet once weekly for three hours, for two 13-week semesters.
Entrance at midpoint in January is not possible.
Small classes (maximum 18) enhance individual participation. Classes feature a balance of structural and communicative activities and an important cultural content to optimize learning.Students who successfully complete this level receive the French Language Diploma in June and are invited to participate in Spring Convocation.
Reinforce and widen all the skills introduced in level four.
Reinforce awareness of variations in pronunciation, vocabulary and syntax between different regional varieties of French.
Discover literature from various Francophone countries.
Mandatory initial level assessment if entering the program at that level, or
Register for fall term and spring term separately.
A communicative grammar book (En avant la grammaire!) is mandatory in levels four and five. The tuition fee includes a subscription to L’Actualité for the duration of the course.
Students may enter the program at any level if their initial level is sufficient. A level assessment is necessary to enter the program at a higher level than level one. Please book your assessment by calling 250-721-8630 or by e-mail ar firstname.lastname@example.org.
A full refund will be provided if you withdraw from the course prior to the start date. A refund, less a $50 administrative fee, will be issued if you withdraw during the first two weeks from the start date. No refunds after two weeks. Depending on your method of payment, a refund will be either mailed to you or credited to your credit card.
