Why We Fall Apart: The Neuroscience and Neurophysiology of Aging


Course description

This course will focus on the neuroscience of how we age. Specifically, the course will consist of six lectures focused on:

  1. the development of the brain
  2. how the brain ages
  3. motor deficits with age
  4. Dementia
  5. Parkinsons
  6. ALS.

Each two hour session will consist of a 90 minute traditional lecture and a 30 minute activity and/or question and answer period. Please note this course is focused on age-related changes in the brain and will not cover age-related changes in physiology (i.e., musculature).
