Dr. Brian Christie was one of the first researchers to discover that exercise stimulates the growth of brain cells in the hippocampus, an area of the brain involved with learning and memory. Through his research we now know that new neurons are produced continually throughout our lives and that this process can be ramped up or dampened by our lifestyles. More recently, Dr. Christie’s laboratory has focused on how he can use this knowledge to help promote healthy brain aging. Join Dr. Christie to learn some of the key things you can do to keep your brain healthy and happy as you age, and to hear about some of his students latest research on new ways to help keep your brain healthy.
