International students registered with UVic Continuing Studies will have access to new student services!

UVic's Centre for Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities (CARSA)

Provides world-class training and learning facilities for all community members, with access to athletics and recreation resources as well as specific services and research programs.

Students have access to all facilities including:

The performance gym, a huge multipurpose fieldhouse, a two-level fitness weight training area, a Peninsula Co-op Climbing Centre, dance space, dedicated TRX and spin classrooms, yoga studios, squash and racquetball courts, a rowing ergometer centre, a sports injury clinic and a snack bar/refreshment facilities.

It is also home of CanAssist, which develops technologies, programs and services that help people with disabilities improve their quality of life.

Bus Pass

A full bus pass automatically available on your Student ID Card called - ONECard!

The bus pass offers students unlimited access to BC Transit services within the Victoria transit region.

To use your bus pass once activated, simply swipe your student card (ONECard) when boarding any BC Transit Bus in the Victoria transit region.

If you are registered in a full time program with Continuing Studies, and paying the student service fee, your card will be printed with the bus pass encoded on it when it's provided to you. After each program ends, you must update your ONECard at the self-service kiosk (KEEOSK) for the next program session date. Please read the screen when you insert you card.

University of Victoria's Student Society (UVSS)

With your UVSS membership fee you have access to clubs, organizations, events and discounts at the Cinecenta movie theatre.

Club examples: Anime Club, International Friendship Group, Swing Dance Club, Japanese Culture Club, International Student Services Club Lego Club, Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Chinese Traditional Instrument Club, Games Club, Hong Kong Student Association, Latinos with out borders.

ALL international students at the English Language Centre and Continuing Studies must have medical insurance for the duration of their studies. is the automatic insurance that will be applied to your account for when you arrive in Victoria.

The plan provides emergency medical insurance coverage for international students who are new to UVic Continuing Studies.

This plan covers required medical services to address new and unexpected illness or injury.

Access to individual career coaching related to career development and management, employment preparation, and work search issues. Includes access to resume preparation, interview skill development, career education curriculum, skill-based workshops, and group presentations, individual appointments, focused assessment of career development needs and coaching, exploration of career options, connecting with career opportunities, and managing career transitions.
