Perceived Safety: Conversations about Using Marijuana

Course description

Current substance use legislation concerning youth sets the age of legal use, restricts driving while intoxicated, and criminalizes sales to youth. Changes in access, attitudes, patterns of use, or harms related to marijuana and alcohol by youth relate to the commercialization of marijuana in adolescence and young adults. These changes create opportunities for conversations that help us to identify, prevent, and mitigate substance use related harms to youth. This short workshop is designed to give adults and youth access to recent research about youth substance use and its consequences. It will also help open conversations between adults and the young people they care about.
