For 200 years, vaccinations have been a fundamental and undeniably successful strategy in the prevention of infectious diseases; however, the process has not been problem-free. To better understand some key challenges, this course will focus on how the immune system responds to vaccination, and the makeup or format of traditional vaccines. We will also discuss their drawbacks, in addition to the attempts to overcome them.
