One of the best things in the ELC is the Learning Centre. We can talk to volunteers who are native speakers about anything . Also, there are teachers helping us with writing and pronouciation. It is incredibly helpful.
The most amazing experience I had in ELC was to be in a class with people from different cultural backgrounds. I got to know the cultures of many countries and learn how they think about different issues. Sometimes it’s a totally different perspective from what I learned in Taiwan.
What's it like living in Victoria?
Victoria is super beautiful and has a nice weather. There are different flowers and plants everywhere, and plenty of friendly animals around the house. It’s a really relaxing place to live. There are many beautiful beaches and natural places to go. The best thing to do here is lie down on the grass or at a sandy beach and enjoy the sun on a warm afternoon.
Best advice for new students
Talk to anyone you meet! Be Brave! You will meet people from different cultures, so there’s nothing totally wrong or totally right. As long as you respect others and be polite, don’t be shy to introduce yourself and ask about something that you’re curious about. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for your teacher’s help. Talking to a native speaker is more helpful than figuring out an English problem on your own.
