Program description

We offer this program—as an extension of September 12-Week Intensive English—for students who need extra attention in the area of academic writing. Over 2 weeks you will focus on writing effective paragraphs and topic sentences in order to improve your essay and report writing. You will practice and analyze sentence structure and variety, while using clear, concise language to express ideas. In-class writing activities and exercises will challenge and expand your writing skills while enhancing your reading proficiency.

Strong writing skills are essential for academic success at university and will improve your other English communication skills too! If you’re registered in our September 12-week Intensive English program, we encourage you to invest in your academic writing skills with this 2-week program in December.

Program features

  • 15 hours per week; 30 hours total

  • access to the Computer Assisted Language Laboratory (CALL)
  • Homestay accommodation and meals with a carefully selected local family

Program schedule

This is a part-time program with morning classes.


Monday to Friday (15 class hours per week)

  • Classes: 9 am – 12 pm

Registration requirements

To study in this program, you must have completed the September 12-Week Intensive English Program.

To study at the ELC, you must be 18 years old by the program start date.
