Course description
Project-based learning is one of the principles of 21st century learning. By describing the evolution of a highly successful project, this case study demonstrates how secondary-level classroom teachers can implement projects that are:
- personalized
- experiential
- self-directed
- collaborative
- multi-generational
- technology-enhanced
- inter-disciplinary
- authentic
Using open-ended questions, paired discussions and videos, you will work with the outcome of the project (a collaborative book, written by Indigenous learners and community members) to enhance your ability to create a project-based learning activity.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Engage learners in a personalized project
- Encourage parent and community participation
- Improve literacy levels (reading, writing, interviewing, presenting, speaking, listening)
