Grammar and Social Justice in BC: for the Teaching of a Queer Approach to Grammatical Rules

COURSE

Course description

Welcome to the French immersion workshop series

This interactive workshop will provide participants with tools for teaching speaking and writing that makes visible - and audible - the full spectrum of SOGI identities. We will model the difference between SOGI-inclusive and SOGI-expressive French teaching and we will present the benefits of the latter for the school community through interactive activities that are easy to put into practice in the classroom. Participants will learn about the legal and deontological framework that guides SOGI-expressive French teaching in classrooms and what to cite when queried.

Prerequisites

Participants must be in-service French immersion teachers.
