Victoria Artists on Film

Course description

Robert Amos has established a close working relationship with the Artists Archive, a project of the University of Victoria Library's Special Collections. In his research into the papers held there regarding some of Victoria's finest artists, he has identified film, video and audio recordings which bring the artists to life. To provide context for these rarely-seen motion pictures, he will present a profusely illustrated lecture about the artist under consideration. Artists included will be Myfanwy Pavelic, Ted Harrison, Jack Wise, E. J. Hughes, Margaret Peterson, Glenn Howarth, excerpts from television program Arts Calendar, presentations from Painters at Painter’s Lodge, and the Ko Family films of early days in Victoria’s Chinatown (subject to change according to availability).
