The Third Wave: Rock After The Beatles
COURSE
Course description
The turbulent, “fabulous” '60s and the “Fab-Four” Beatles both ended their run within a mere three months, punctuating the notion that a great era had ended. Then ensued an explosion of fused styles, including genres as diverse as hard rock, soft rock, country rock, art rock, glam, disco and the earliest tremors of punk. While new artists emerged, many established acts remained active. But how did rock, whose birth is popularly rooted in youth rebellion (and not trusting anyone over thirty), confront entering its own thirties?
