The 8-Week Photo Club v 3.0

Course description

This course is aimed at photographers of intermediate to advanced skill levels in search of creative stimulus. Those who have taken earlier versions of this course will be undertaking entirely new weekly photo assignments; first time participants are at no disadvantage as such. In place of the prior ‘photographic master as mentor’ model, the third iteration of this course will examine a diverse array of photographic themes allowing participants added creative “breathing space.”

The course thrives on nonstop weekly assignments, kicking off with an ‘open category’ single image submission our very first evening.

Each session opens with 45−60 minutes studying examples of a specific genre of photography followed by in-class viewing/critique of student images in a prepared PowerPoint presentation. The challenge will be to integrate stylistic elements examined during the previous week’s lecture portion into the coming week’s image assignment.

Basically hands-on application with a liberal dose of photographic art appreciation, the goals of this course will be to explore as well as put into practice new forms of creative visualization. Registrants would ideally be familiar with menus on their camera or Smartphone.
