Elvis and the Story of Rock and Roll
COURSE
Course description
We’ll go back and look at the roots of rock and roll in the late 1940s and early 1950s, from Black American music such as gospel, jump blues, jazz, boogie woogie, rhythm and blues, to country music. Add in the electric guitar, radio stations willing to play the music and one young man from Tupelo Mississippi named Elvis Presley, and you have the perfect recipe for the birth of rock and roll.
